Old friends and new adventures!

Hey hey!

So yesterday I went with some old school friends to the Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm for lunch.  But first, getting up at 7am this morning to get ready in time to get to town by 9 was a massive struggle.  Meg and I put our names down to volunteer some time with the Leukaemia Foundation to do christmas gift wrapping with Myer.  Having the bus be ten minutes late made me twenty minutes late wasn't a good start for today.  It didn't matter in the end because we didn't get any customers until the last half an hour, when three people all turned up at once with multiple things to have wrapped.  It was a hectic last stretch of our shift but we made it.  After being relieved of our positions we went and got something to eat and had a cute little morning tea break.

For lunch I had one of their homemade beef burgers with a really thick fresh raspberry smoothie.  This burger was huge and the only way I could actually eat it was by cutting it up and eating it with a knife and fork.  After lunch we went into Deloraine for a look around and to plan where we were headed next.  Obviously there wasn't much to see and do in D-City so we to Liffey Falls for an adventure.

So my friend, Amelia, her car is a tiny two door old thing.  So imagine that driving down a narrow gravel road that hugs the side of a mountain.  On the way down we were following an older couple that were going no faster than I could walk; just to be safe of course.  After finally parking at the top of the walking trails, we jumped out of the car to get to the toilets.  You can't go to Liffey Falls without going to the Big Tree, so that's were we then headed, on our one minute walk to the tree.  The fifty meter tall tree towers over it's surrounding neighbour trees with such beauty.  It was probably the third time I had seen the tree but it is still just as awesome as the first time.

Anyway, off we then headed towards the actual falls bit in Liffey Falls.  The walk was a forty minute return trip so it would be nothing compared to our school's cross country course considering we were walking. Every five minutes or so Britt would have a little spasm due to the bugs attacking her causing her to scream, jump and throw her sunglasses.  It was quite funny to watch and it never got old.  After reaching the first look out, I decided to take a different path that would take me down on the the rocks next to the water.  It was cute, we did some climbing over logs and along the river bank and over rocks, we felt like adventurers.

It was such a hot day and we managed to make ourselves even hotter by walking and climbing all over the Liffey Falls walking trails.  On the way home we stopped in D-City and got ice-cream and drove the long way home through the back country towns.

That night Megan came and picked me up and we went and met up with a friend that was back in the state for a week after moving interstate. We met some friends of friends that we had heard about for a long time but had actually not met them yet, so that was nice.  All together it was a hectic, hot, fun and well spent day.

Good Night xx

P.S.  I don't really intend to always post so late a night but it seems as of lately that I can only really concentrate very late at night.  I'm also trying to publish them as closely as I can to the day that it has actually happened, but as you can tell a lot of this has happened around the same time.  But thank you, whoever is reading this, for being patient. Lots of love and stay gold :)

~ Sneak Peak ~

Here is a little preview in to what I got up to yesterday :)

Hobart and giant milkshakes!!

Hey dudes

So my friend asked if I wanted to come to Hobart with her and her family for the day on Monday, so because I had nothing else planned I decided to go along.  It was a very early start with us leaving at 7:30am on Monday morning for us to get there before 10:30.  Having not gotten to sleep until close to 11:30 the night before, it was a struggle to keep my eyes open during the drive down.  Falling asleep then waking up with a very sore back and neck was not nice considering we were planning on walking around a art museum for 2 hours.

As her parents had a business meeting, Meg and I were dropped at MONA, The Museum of Old and New Art, and at to wait half an hour until it opened at 10am.  I had already been to MONA this year so I wasn't that keen but I didn't really mind.  But to my surprise, a lot of the exhibitions and art pieces had been moved and new ones brought in.  It was good to see all the new pieces of art and have a whole new experience.  One of my favourites was an installation of a giant trampoline with little bells attached to the underside of the trampoline.  It was named Danser La Musique which translates from French to dance music or something.  So every time you jump on the trampoline, (which we could!) it would create a song using the bells and the noise from the springs.  It was quite beautiful and it made people smile and laugh which was great to see.

After walking around for two hours or so we hoped on the MONA ferry to meet up with Meg's parents who were at Salamanca.  We walked around Salamanca for a little while trying to find somewhere nice to eat lunch, it was surprisingly hard because people were all on their lunch breaks.  After finding a cafe Meg and I both got nachos and milkshakes.  By then our stomaches were starting to eat themselves.

Overall It was a really good day and it was good catching up with the other Mooe for a day.

Bye Bitches xx

Road Trip!!

Hey Hey!

So my friends and I organised a road trip down the east coast of Tasmania to go camping at a place named Friendly's Beach.  Me not being a massive fan of the outdoors I wasn't too keen on going but looking back, I will probably remember the last three days for the rest of my life.

After everyone turned up to my house to pack the car, my friend got a call from her boyfriend to say that he was on his way to my house.  More the merrier we said but then realised that there were six people standing in my drive when he arrived and we were trying to get into a five seat car...  and here was the first obstacle.  We then realised that there was no possible way that any of our gear would fit into the car as well.  After packing the car enough that Megan could now not get out of the car we headed off to get lunch.  After wanting frozen cokes, we drove to the other side of town to get them from Hungry Jacks we then went to McDonalds back near my house to get cheeseburgers.  Then off we headed down the highway to the east coast.

Friendly's Beach was such a lovely place that none of us wanted to leave.  Our little camp site was on the other side of the bushes from the beach and surrounded by more bushes.  There was only one spot were we could all get proper cell reception, which was about 1km up the road from our camp site.  After setting up our tent etc. we then noticed that the boys were yeah yet, and it had been almost 3 hours since we last saw them...  After about seven phones calls just from my phone we just excepted that they had died. They finally decided to show up at 8:30 that night, almost five hours after we got there.  We made them cook us dinner though cause we set the tent up so it was alright.

It took them close to two hours to finally cook us dinner but as the boys were really hungry they ate all but three out of 24, leaving the three for us girls.  They also ate the two loaves of bread that first night too.

The second day we went to the beach and just chilled.  We ended up having a group nap session during lunch time for almost four hours.  That night we made pasta and played Bullshit and told stories.  I ended staying awake until about 3am talking with one of my friends.  That my dears was a good day.

We sadly had to leave the next day though.  After packing up everything we then realised again that we had a problem.  We had way to much stuff and people for my friend's little five seater, two door car.  After packing the boot full we still had the people and all our bags and sleeping gear.  Convincing, well, making the boys get in the back, we packed all their bags, sleeping gear and my other friend on top of them I got in the car.  I got in the front seat and got my friend who owned the car to pack stuff around me and then drive out as quickly as possible.  There was no way in hell that we could make this two hour drive back to Launceston with the amount of stuff and people in the car without getting pulled over.  So we called our friend who lived in Bicheno and told them to meet us at his work so we could give him some of our stuff.

We pretty much emptied our car straight into his car and decided that we could make it with four people in the backseat.  After pulling my puppy eyes on my friend, he said that he would be the one to stay.  So we left him in Bicheno with half of our stuff and our other friend for the afternoon

Megan and I got almost halfway back to get him and our stuff when we get a call from our friend down in Bicheno saying that he can bring all our stuff and our friend back tomorrow.  We were annoyed that we had wasted petrol on getting to Campbell Town but then relieved that we didn't have to all the way down there.  So we just sat in the car at Campbell Town and ate hot chips and relaxed for a bit before heading home.

The whole trip was just good to get away from everything and to be together with friends and just relax.  This trip was probably the funnest thing I have done in a while so thanks peeps that came with us!

Good Night xx

WORK EXPERIENCE & 2014

Hey guys,

I've just spent the last 3 days doing work experience at my old high school.  I worked with the lovely Miss Katherine doing sound and lighting for school assemblies and a dance studio's end of year production.  It was so much fun helping out and getting to see how it all works.  It has given me a look into the industry that I am currently thinking of pursuing.  The first day that I was there I ended up working for 13 and a half hours.  We set up for a year 8 and year 5 graduation, rigged and refocused lights and also set up for the rehearsal for the dance studio's production.  It was such a crazy busy day helping set everything up, but it was so much fun.  Then on the Saturday we had to rig one more light for the disco ball and then do the sound & lighting for the matinee and evening performance.  Saturday involved a lot of sitting in the bio box and watching the performance that I had already seen twice.

I became interested in backstage stuff for theatre after being a mech for the senior school musical.  I was given the opportunity to be the stage manager for the middle school play after I helped with the musical.  Both productions helped open my eyes to the world of theatre.  After talking with a drama teacher over the weekend,  I'm interested in a course at maybe NIDA in Sydney in a Bachelor of Fine Arts: Production (I think that's what it's called).  Being trained in this opens a lot of doors and there will always be work backstage.  The good bit about this is that I can actually see myself doing this and enjoying it to.  This skill can take me all around the world and I could work for anyone anywhere.

Oh and last week I went to Geelong to take a look around Geelong Grammar's campus.  I got in contact with the vice-principal through my scholarship program look for a job for next year.  Having Geelong Grammar partnered with Yalari (my scholarship program) has given me the opportunity to become a gap assist and Indigenous student support officer for the school next year.  So what I'm saying is that I am moving to Geelong at the end of January in 2014!!
I've been told that I will be living in a share house with two girls from the Uk that is on campus and that I have full access to all the school's facilities.  Oh my geezus I am excited for next year!  I'm excited to be living independently and having a job!! Argh I'm so excited!! Anyway here is a selfie I took going to the airport on the way home.  I will find the photos that I took in Geelong at the esplanade tomorrow.

Good Night xx

Here are some photos that I took in Canberra :)
